NNS has been the exclusive designer, constructor and refueller of US Navy aircraft carriers, and one of two providers of submarines for the US Navy.

The shipbuilder is currently working on the navy's new Ford-class aircraft carriers and Virginia-class fast-attack submarines, as well as executing refuelling and overhaul on Nimitz-class aircraft carriers.
