Lockheed Martin has awarded a contract to Marotta Controls to provide a pressure regulator for the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM-B) fuel pressurisation system.

Under the contract, Marotta will develop pressure regulators featuring an integral relief valve to prevent excess pressure from a helium storage vessel, which is in turn used to pressurise the missile fuel system.

The ship-launched anti-surface warfare missile features advanced onboard sensors and processing capabilities and incorporates a ramjet engine to achieve supersonic cruise speed.

Lockheed was contracted by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) earlier this year to provide two distinct LRASM missile variants, LRASM-A and LRASM-B, for the US Navy.
