The Islamic Republic of Iran has inducted and equipped its frigates with the new indigenous cruise missile Qader, Iranian Navy commander rear admiral Habibollah Sayyari revealed.

The Qader missile is a lightweight surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missile capable of hitting submarines and various targets at a range of 200km.

Fars News Agency has quoted rear admiral Sayyari as saying that the Qader is the most powerful and accurate missile currently in use by Iran’s Navy.

The small-size, high-precision projectile weapon moves at low altitude, has a high deterrence capability and destruction power, and can be equipped on Iran’s Air Force helicopters.
