Imtech has been selected by Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards as the technology partner for the Canadian Government’s national shipbuilding procurement strategy (NSPS) programme.

Under the subcontract, the company will provide platform automation, electrical solutions, electric propulsion and air conditioning, and climate control systems (HVAC) for the vessels.

Seaspan has been awarded a $8bn contract to construct non-combat vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard.

The contract also includes an option for a further 17 vessels.
