The Royal Netherlands Navy has taken delivery of the second of four Holland-class vessels, the Zeeland, built by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in Vlissingen, Netherlands.

The new patrol ship has been designed for international law enforcement and security missions that include combating piracy and counter drugs operations.

The 3,750t Holland-class vessel can offer landing facilities for one NH-90 helicopter and features a 76mm Oto-Melara gun, a rapid-fire 30mm gun and two 12.7mm Hitrole machine guns, and is equipped with the Thales integrated mast module.

The navy received the first Holland-class vessel, the HrMs Holland, in May 2011 while the third and fourth vessels, Friesland and Groningen, are currently under construction.
