Bechtel Plant Machinery has received a contract modification to supply naval nuclear propulsion systems to the US Navy.

The modification, valued at $532.42m, was awarded by the US Naval Sea Systems Command.

The contractual work will be performed in Schenectady, New York, and Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) has been contracted by the US Navy to perform phased maintenance availability aboard the USS Boxer (LHD-4) amphibious assault ship.

The one-year contract worth $83.03m covers depot-level maintenance and modifications, which will enhance the USS Boxer’s performance capabilities.

BAE Systems has secured a contract from General Dynamics Electric Boat to commence production on the Virginia Payload Module (VPM) launch tubes for Block V Virginia-class submarines.

The contractual work will be performed at BAE Systems’ Louisville facility in Kentucky, US.

The payload launch tubes are expected to be delivered in 2019.

The US Naval Sea Systems Command has placed a $17.83m-worth contract with Raytheon Missile Systems for depot and intermediate level maintenance on the US Navy’s Standard Missile (SM).

Scheduled to be completed by December next year, the contract will include repair, all-up-round re-certification, special maintenance, and recertification of standard missiles and components.

Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems business has been awarded a contract modification worth $60m by the US Navy for integration and testing of Aegis weapon system onto five new Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers.

The one-year contract also includes modernisation of five existing ships of Arleigh Burke class, and integrated system modifications for all vessels with Aegis baselines through advanced capability build 12.
