The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Australian Navy (RAN) have concluded a bilateral maritime exercise, Singaroo, at the Changi Naval Base in the South China Sea.

The exercise was conducted in two phases, shore and sea, and included operations planning, helicopter operations and air defence serials.

More than 400 personnel, the frigate RSS Formidable, a Sikorsky S-70B naval helicopter and four F-16 fighter aircraft participated alongside the frigates HMAS Warramunga and Sirius.

The exercise was aimed at sharpening war-fighting skills, gunnery, seamanship, firefighting, damage control and naval aviation skills.
