South Korea and the US have decided to cancel the large-scale joint naval drills in the Yellow Sea that were scheduled for later this month.

The exercise will be held after the G20 summit, which is scheduled to be held on 11-12 November, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

The decision was made to improve conditions for the upcoming G20 summit and also to not irritate neighbouring countries.

The countries recently staged anti-submarine training between 27 September and 1 October.
