Parvus Corporation has been awarded a follow-on contract by Lockheed to supply a few hundred units of rugged VME Ethernet switch cards for the US Navy’s MH-60R and MH-60S Seahawk helicopters.

The MH-60R naval helicopter is designed to operate from frigates, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers. The MH-60S helicopter can perform a variety of missions including combat, search and rescue, and airborne mine countermeasures.

The rugged ethernet switches interact with a variety of instrumentation systems used onboard and are critical to the helicopters multiple mission functions.

Delivery of the units is expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
