Ultra Electronics is developing an integrated sonar system for use in the Hobart Class Aegis destroyer for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

Ultra’s open architecture systems integration service (OASIS) architecture strategy leverages the open-standard data distribution service for real-time systems (DDS) from the object management group (OMG).

OASIS provides the air warfare destroyer (AWD) alliance and the end-user with a modular integration environment for the complete system with unprecedented levels of system interoperability.

The advanced sonar design need for the integration of several subsystems and a fast real-time data fusion capability is provided by OASIS.
