The US Navy has awarded a four-year contract to Rockwell Collins under the Hawkeye integrated training system – maintenance (HITS-M) programme.

Rockwell will be the prime contractor designing and developing the first integrated maintenance training systems on the E-2D advanced hawkeye aircraft.

The HITS-M solution comprises instructional systems design (ISD) principles, instructor-led training (ILT) and computer-aided instruction (CAI), interactive courseware, training media deliverables and contractor logistics support.

Rockwell had delivered the E-2C weapon system trainer (WST) and simulated maintenance trainer (SMT) under a E-2D HITS-A (Aircrew) contract.
