The US will deliver an advanced warship F-260 frigate to the Pakistani Navy during a celebration to be held in Florida, US.

The Oliver Hazard Perry Class warship will be named the PNS Alamgir and Captain Naveed Ashraf will be its maiden commanding officer, according to Geo News.

The frigates are primarily designed as anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare guided-missile warships, to provide open-ocean escort of amphibious warfare ships and merchant ship convoys in threat environments.

The F-260 warship is deployed in many navy forces worldwide for maritime security purposes.
