The towed active subsystem will be integrated into a variable depth sonar (VDS) anti-submarine warfare (ASW) system for use on the ship.
The LCS VDS is a low-frequency sonar capable of detecting submerged submarines off the coast and in deep waters.
The sonar also provides a high-search-rate tactical anti-submarine warfare capability.
The $9.7m fixed-price contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $12.7m.
The LCS VDS advanced development model (ADM) is scheduled for a sea test in financial year 2012.
