The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has deployed dozens of missile-launching speedboats in the Persian Gulf.

IRGC Navy Commander Admiral Ali Fadavi said the Zolfaqar, Tareq, Ashoura and Zoljanah Class speedboats displayed good sailing capabilities and high destructive power.

The speedboats are equipped with rocket-launchers and other sophisticated military equipment capable of striking any foreign warship.

Military advisor Major General Rahim Safavi said any hostile target and all warships passing through the Persian Gulf were within the reach of the IRGC’s missiles at all times.

“Undoubtedly through this measure we can extend help to the further establishment of security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

The IRGC combines ground, naval and air forces to protect border areas and defend the Islamic Republic.
