Lockheed Martin has delivered the 1,000th electronic warfare payload for the Nulka decoy programme, an Australia-US joint programme.

Nulka is a rocket-propelled active missile decoy specifically designed to lure incoming missiles away from the ships for stand-alone ship protection.

As an integral part of the ship’s missile defence system, Nulka provides effective all-weather protection for naval vessels against anti-ship missiles.

Currently, Nulka is fielded on every Australian surface combatant as well as on several classes of US and Canadian navy warships.

BAE Systems is the prime contractor for the Nulka decoy programme while Lockheed Martin and Aerojet will manufacture the payload and rocket motor.
