The APY-10 is a long-range, multimission, maritime and overland surveillance radar, that can provide accurate information for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare and for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission support at all times.
Raytheon Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems vice-president Tim Carey said APY-10 radar would provide the Indian Navy with proven, low-risk technology built on generations of successful Raytheon radar systems.
The contract is Raytheon’s first international contract and paves the way for expanding its presence in the international maritime surveillance market.
Raytheon is also under a contract with Boeing to provide six APY-10 systems and spares, of which, four of the six have been delivered to the US Navy’s P-8A programme.
