The Australian Submarine Corporation has awarded a contract to Colfax to provide pumping technology for the three new destroyers being built for the Australian Navy.

Under the $1.2m contract, the company will initially supply three-screw rotary positive displacement pumps.

The displacement pumps will be fitted to the air-warfare destroyers to handle fluids including fuel, lubricating oil and bilge water.

Colfax said a total of 20 pumps would be installed in each of three air-warfare destroyers.
