Saab will design the combat management system for the Swedish Navy’s future submarines under a contract awarded by Kockums AB.

Under the Skr100m ($12.7m) contract, Saab will be responsible for the overall design and integration of the combat management system and subsystems onboard the submarines.

The next-generation submarines are expected to be highly adaptable to current and future threats and to the Swedish Navy’s international maritime operations.

In addition, the submarines will also feature enhanced intelligence gathering and improved stealth technology.
