Under the contract, which is worth approximately $37m, Shaw will perform radiological investigations, surveys and remediation work in support of the navy’s environmental programmes, including base realignment and closure.
Radiological support services primarily focus on removal of radioactive contamination, remedial design, pilot and treatability studies, and other related activities of appropriate decontamination and decommissioning status.
Remediation work will be carried out at various naval locations within the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s south-west and Atlantic areas.
