The Royal Navy of Oman has awarded a contract to Thales to fit its patrol boats and corvettes with Vigile electronic support measures (ESM) systems.
Vigile ESM systems are specifically developed to provide the shipboard crew with early warning, situational awareness and electromagnetic signals intelligence functions by monitoring and analysing the signals.
The Vigile 200 system offers greater surveillance coverage while the Vigile 400 is the highest performance system.
The systems comprise an antenna system, signal reception and processing units, and an operator display console.
Vigile is the primary sensor of the electronic warfare suite integrated into the combat system and will respond to the increasing complexity of the electronic emitters.
