Patria will upgrade the Finnish Navy’s Rauma Class fast attack craft under a €64.7m ($79.7m) contract, scheduled to be signed on 30 June.

As a prime contractor, Patria will upgrade four Rauma Class craft and integrate the subcontractor supply onboard the vessels.

The upgraded vessels are expected to serve until 2020 and meet the requirements set by the new threats.

Subcontractors of the upgrade work include Saab AB, Western Shipyard Oy and Kongsberg Maritime AS.

Work will be carried out between 2010 and 2013, and the vessels are expected to be ready for battlefield operations by 2014.
