Russia will complete the construction of a Ukrainian cruiser that has been suspended for almost 15 years, according to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
Ukraine launched the construction of the Slava Class Admiral Lobov cruiser in 1984 at the Nikolayev shipyard, but it stalled during its final stage in the late 1980s due to military budget cuts, according to Rianovosti.
Yanukovych said the cruiser was 95% complete but could not be finished without Russia’s help.
Around $30m is required to finish construction of the ship, according to the reports.
