A navy official said the survey vessels would be modelled on the navy’s hydrographic survey ship INS Darshak built by the Goa Shipyard and commissioned in 2001.
INS Darshak is the navy’s eighth survey vessel. It has a length of approximately 85m and a standard displacement capacity of up to 2,000t.
