The NH90 NFH variant is specifically designed for autonomous anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare missions.
Additional missions carried out by the helicopter include search and rescue, maritime patrol, vertical replenishment, troop transport, medical evacuation and amphibious support.
The helicopter features a deck-lock system, deck-traversing system ,and the automatic blade and tail folding system, which enables the aircraft to operate from small frigates, day and night, and in adverse weather conditions.
France has ordered 61 NH90 aircraft, of which, 27 are the naval version and 34 the tactical transport TTH versions.
