The Type 45 training unit will use the 3D training media for the radar electronic support measures and medium-frequency sonar systems during the training courses at HMS Collingwood.
Interactive media enables the training maintainers to learn the concepts either by instructor-led computer-aided teaching or by self-paced computer-based training.
Both modes allow the maintainer to interact with photo-realistic animated 3D models of cabinets and equipment to work through a series of activities, including start-up / shut-down, remove / install and fault finding.
The contract is the second phase of the original contract awarded in April 2007.
