The Spanish Navy has awarded a contract to Indra to modernise the communications infrastructures at its Rota and Cartagena Naval Bases.

Under the €1.7m ($2.2m) contract, Indra will supply new communications systems that will provide the ships with a high-capacity transmission link through Nato’s general purpose communications segment.

The new systems will remain in connection with the existing communications equipment at the naval stations as well as with other facilities in Spain and overseas.

The transmission link will provide access to voice, data and video services, and the Spanish Navy and Nato networks through a multiservice IP network.
