The South Korean Navy has awarded a contract to Herley Industries for the supply and installation of security systems onboard the navy’s patrol vessels.

Under the $7.5m contract, the company will supply IFF (identification friend or foe) shipboard interrogators, transponders and ancillary equipment for the vessels.

The IFF system, interfaced with the shipboard radars, central fire control system and electronic support measure equipment, identifies friendly and enemy forces.

Herley will also provide the required on-site field engineering support while integrating the ship’s radar and assisting in the cryptographic certification.
