Raytheon will produce LAU-115D/A and LAU-116B/A missile launchers for the US Navy under an $18.9m contract.

The US Navy will use the missile launchers aboard its F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G aircraft.

The missile launchers will provide structural and electrical interfaces to allow the aircraft to carry and launch missiles, including the advanced medium-range air-to-air missile (AMRAAM) and AIM-9X Sidewinder.

Production will be undertaken at the company's facility in Indiana. It is expected to be complete by September 2012.

The contract has been awarded by the US Navy Naval Air Systems Command.
