The US Navy has awarded a contract to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to provide technical and engineering support services for security, surveillance, and unmanned systems of the navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific).

Under the $47.6m contract, SAIC will provide technical and engineering services, algorithm development, material analysis, data processing, prototype fabrication and limited production, and programme management to support SSC Pacific’s command systems.

The support services pertain to SSC Pacific’s unmanned systems, security systems, airspace control, maritime surveillance systems, anti-terrorist force protection surveillance systems, and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems.

The three-year contract has options that, if exercised, could bring the contract value to $63m.

Work will be carried out in San Diego.
