The US Navy has awarded a contract to LPI Technical Services to provide support services for material handling equipment, and ship operation and performance.

Under the $84.1m contract, the company will provide repair, maintenance, modernisation, logistical and technical support services for material handling equipment or yellow gear, according to defenceindustrydaily.com.

Yellow gear is used for aircraft handling, servicing, maintenance and fire fighting on aircraft carriers.

In addition, LPI will provide hull, mechanical and electric machinery and systems for ship operation and performance.
