Sikorsky Aerospace Services will provide logistics support services for the US Navy light utility helicopters (LUH) at Patuxent River, Naval Air Station, under a contract awarded by EADS North America.

Under the contract, Sikorsky’s Helicopter Support will provide a modified version of the existing Logistics Support programme to the navy’s LUH fleet of five UH-72A helicopters.

The UH-72A Lakota is a versatile and functional helicopter with a payload capacity of 3,953lb and a maximum cruising speed of 145kt at sea level.

Derived from Eurocopter’s EC145 helicopter, the helicopter features latest technology to deliver superior performance, operational reliability, and improved maintainability and safety.
