A Sineva intercontinental ballistic missile has been successfully test launched by the Russian Navy from a submarine in the Barents Sea, according to a Defence Ministry spokesman.

During the test-launch, the ballistic missile was fired from the Navy’s Tula (Delta IV Class) submarine, according to RIA Novosti.
The RSM-54 Sineva is a liquid-propellant submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) designed for Delta IV Class submarines, which can carry up to 16 missiles apiece.
The Russian Navy has another SLBM, Bulava, specifically designed for its new Borey Class submarines. Bulava underwent a total of 12 tests, of which, seven were failures.
