Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) will manufacture the nuclear power systems for the US Navy’s submarines and aircraft carriers under a $450m contract.
Under the contract, the company will provide a wide range of nuclear components and services, from providing nuclear fuel and the manufacture of reactors for US Naval submarines and aircraft carriers.
In addition, B&W will perform plutonium and uranium decontamination and decommissioning, facility stabilisation and nuclear materials management.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Ohio and Indiana.
