The US Navy has awarded a contract to Optics 1 for the design and development of multispectral imaging technology called the single-aperture multiband sensor.

Under the $9.6m contract, the company will provide services and materials to develop, prototype and produce optics and sensors of the advanced multiband optical surveillance system.

Work will be carried out in Manchester, New Hampshire, and is expected to be complete by January 2015.

The contract has been awarded by the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey.
