The UK Royal Navy has awarded a contract to Babcock to provide in-service support to Eddystone, the communications Electronic Support Measures (CESM) system for submarines.

Under the contract, which runs until 2013, the company will provide engineering support, integrated logistics support, capability insertion and obsolescence management, and configuration management for the overall Eddystone system.

Engineering and integrated logistics support will include routine maintenance, a helpdesk providing technical and engineering advice and software support, spares and repairs management, reporting and analysis of equipment failures, and storage of classified material.

In addition, Babcock will also work with the Ministry of Defence over the life of the equipment to ensure that solutions to changing threats are identified that helps the MoD’s decision-making process.
