The US Navy has awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman to provide logistics support for all navigation and steering systems installed on navy surface ships and submarines.
Under the $42m contract, Grumman Sperry Marine will provide technical support, spares and repair parts for the WSN-7 series inertial navigation systems, AN/BPS-15 and AN/BPS-16 submarine radar systems, scalable integrated bridge systems on combatant ships.
In addition, the company will also provide select steering gear material support on the Arleigh Burke DDG-51 Class destroyers while material management, configuration management and programme management services are also included.
The contract has been awarded by the US Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
