General Dynamics (GD) will produce integrated circuits for the US Navy’s Trident II (D5) submarine-launched ballistic missile programme, under a contract worth up to $110m awarded by the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory.

Under the three-year deal aimed at extending the service life of the Trident, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems will also provide circuit card assemblies for the its D5 missile and guidance systems.

Work will be carried out by GD in collaboration with Honeywell International at GD’s Plymouth, facility in Minnesota.

Honeywell will produce integrated circuits with superior performance in harsh radiation environments, which satisfy the Trident missile applications.
