During the 24-day exercise codenamed Flash Iron 10-01 JCET the Indonesian Navy’s frogmen’s force and the elite forces of the US Navy will join to practice various exercises.
The naval forces will practice and improve their skills in target shooting, demolitions, anti-terrorist operations at Panjang Port and para jumping at Raden Intenational Airport.
Lampung naval base commander Col. Weddy said the participants will have an opportunity to increase their mastery of standard operation procedures especially on field manoeuvres.
The joint navy exercise is aimed to improve interoperability between the two countries, said the US Navy Commander Col Robinson.
