The German Navy has selected Rockwell Collins to provide a radar electronic support measures (R-ESM) suite for the navy’s F125 special forces and stabilisation frigates.

Under the contract, the company will provide fit the CS-3600 R-ESM system onboard the frigates.

The R-ESM system contains the CS-3001 pulse analyser unit, CS-5998 wideband tuners, CS-5020 microwave tuners, IFMR-6070 instantaneous frequency measuring receiver and the CS-6090 PRISM (precision intercept spectral monitoring system).

Rockwell Collins command, control, communications and intelligence solutions vice-president and general manager Alan Caslavka said the F125 frigates will be equipped with some of the most advanced radar collection and analysis capability available.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Richardson, Texas, with deliveries scheduled between 2010 and 2013.
