The US Navy has selected Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to support the wheeled tactical vehicle (WTV) and support shelter and vehicle automated diagnostic system (VADS) programmes.

Under the five-year $20m contract, the company will help the crane division of the navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) improve the mobility, reliability and safety of all armed vehicles.

In addition to WTV support shelter and VADS, SAIC will provide engineering, design, fabrication and technical support for other marine corps systems command and test measurement and diagnostic equipment programme initiatives.

NSWC Crane maintains a full spectrum research, development, acquisition, support, and test and evaluation capability for surface warfare combat, and weapons, hull, mechanical and electrical systems.
