The choppers are designed to detect and destroy submarines, and are equipped to carry torpedoes as well as pulse compression radar, low-frequency dipping sonar, radar warning receiver and doppler navigation systems.
Pakistan’s chief admiral Noman Bashir said the country was committed to maintain the quality of naval platforms and to enhancing the capabilities of the navy’s aviation wing.
