The US Navy has awarded a contract to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to develop and produce low-band universal communications system (LBUCS) transmit terminal equipment (TTE).

LUBUCS TTE will help the navy examine and repair current fleet submarine broadcast system (FSBS) components that are scheduled for upgrades including hardware replacement, reuse and porting of existing FSBS software and the development of new software as required.

Under the contract, the company will design and deliver the updated systems, including two engineering design models of the broadcast transmit and keying sites.

In addition, SAIC will provide programme management, systems engineering, test and evaluation, and integrated logistics support as required.
