The US Navy has contracted six firms under a $455m deal to provide engineering and technical shipboard alteration services on ship hulls and mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment onboard navy ships.

The companies will together cover all the US Navy’s aircraft carriers, surface ships, watercraft, cutters and submarines in locations worldwide.

As per the contract, the partner companies are required to support various levels of ship systems integration including component-level digital upgrades through to system-level upgrades.

Additional services include industrial support, shipboard interface and maintenance / repair, logistics and material support and quality assurance.
