The US Navy has selected retail software firm Celerant Technology to provide an end-to-end enterprise software solution for the navy’s ships store programme, used on over 150 naval ships.

As the new software provider to the navy, the company will ensure that the conversion of each ship store is smooth and unconstrained in function irrespective of the ship’s location.

The company’s Command Retail software is a real-time package that integrates point of sale, inventory management, warehouse, distribution centre, allocation, advanced reporting on the back end and facilitates e-commerce.

The software will connect all retail channels perfectly consistently and coherently with a centralised database facilitating operation of workload reduction and corporate oversight.

In case of lost internet connection at sea, transactions will not be interrupted and the software system will allow all data to be imported when the connection is restored.

The navy has around 155 ship stores on commissioned ships carrying basic necessities and semi-luxury goods.
