The Russian Sineva sea-based ballistic missile has been successfully test launched from a Delta IV-class strategic nuclear-powered submarine in service with the navy’s Northern Fleet.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that the target was hit and pieces of the missile landed in the designated area.

Russia is planning to provide Delta IV-class submarines with at least 100 Sineva missiles.
