In an effort to meet the US Navy’s small tactical unmanned aircraft system/tier II programme requirements, aerospace and defence development and manufacturing company AAI has unveiled its new small unmanned aircraft system (UAS) as a primary candidate.
The Aerosonde Mark 4.7 is a small UAS technology configured with advanced land or shipboard automated launch and recovery capabilities that can cover intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions in confined areas.
The UAS will meet the Navy and Marine Corps requirements for a small tactical solution, the company said.
