The US Navy has awarded an $11.5m contract to the Electro-Optics Center in Pennsylvania to supply sub-systems for the Navy’s next-generation radars and Common Data Sensor Architecture (CDSA) programme to support Integrated Warfare Systems 2 (IWS 2).

Under the contract, the company will provide research, design, development and delivery of sub-systems for the CDSA programme.

The CDSA is a centralised system that collects inputs from different sensors and will provide information from one group of sensors to another.

The work is expected to be complete by June 2011 with the major portion carried out in Freeport and the rest in Pennsylvania State College.
