The US Navy has accomplished the final acceptance trials for the Freedom Class littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS-1).

The trials were intended to evaluate the ship’s propulsion, communications and navigation systems.

The tests also subsumed a four-hour, full-power run and both surface and air detect-to-engagement demonstrations of the ship’s combat management system, reports said.

The tests were the navy’s second round of acceptance trials and the completed by the littoral ships.
