The US Navy has awarded a $51m contract to General Dynamics to provide programme management and engineering services to Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Atlantic.

The facility is the US Navy’s research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support centre for command, control and communication systems and ocean surveillance in the Atlantic.

Under the contract the company will provide support for the command, control, communications, computers and intelligence secure voice and defence red switch network information assurance and interoperability programme.

General Dynamics Naval Information Technology Solutions vice president and general manager Kenneth Slaght said that the company will continue to partner with SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic to provide technical support for their communications networks.
