DCNS reveals Moroccan Navy frigate

DCNS has unveiled the FREMM multimission frigate for the Royal Moroccan Navy in the process of the vessel's scheduled 2013 delivery. The France-based company will continue assembly work on the warship and equip the vessel with sensor suites in the next few months, according to Defence

DCNS has unveiled the FREMM multimission frigate for the Royal Moroccan Navy in the process of the vessel's scheduled 2013 delivery.

The France-based company will continue assembly work on the warship and equip the vessel with sensor suites in the next few months, according to Defence Professionals.

The 142m FREMM frigate has a displacement of 6,000t and can reach speeds of up to 27kt.

The warship is designed for reduced crewing and can be used for anti-air, anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare roles.

The French FREMM programme aims to build 12 ships, which includes 11 for the French Navy and one for the Moroccan Navy.
